Relax... Take a deep breath

Hi people.
I am a 26 year old dude living in KL. Currently I am seeking employment and live with my parents. I don't have a car and love to shop on eBay and Amazon. I like to pay stuffs with my PB Debit card and am a self improvement freak who is obsessed in learning about health and wealth. I maintain a blog on http://wisecurve.com and dream of being an book author one day.

My wealth creation is simple: achieving Financial Freedom within 10 years and being a jutawan within 15 years.

My strategy involves a lot of self education, wealthy mindset, and wealth manifesting (law of attraction).

I start by increasing my savings -- high income, low expenses with efficient cash flow. I can gain high income by being a star employee and from side income. I maintain low expenses by eating less, travel by public transportation and being frugal.

The savings is used to maintain emergency fund, insurance, and investing.

I will grow my money via equity UT and property. I will apply ringgit cost averaging and keep my money long enough before that specific investment cycle ends (before the hot item starts to collapse).

While chasing after wealth, I never neglet health and happiness. Good quality life is important for me.

I hope to leave a legacy of an effective charity system where my investment fund will fuel charity causes with a part of its return. I am very careful with charities as there are phony charities that are not worth my attention.

Hello everyone,

Thank you Mr. KC Lau for the wonderful website you have created. I’ve just finish reading your book “Top Money Tips For Malaysians”. I must say it was nice one, simple, easy to understand, and straight forward. And Mr Relax, we do have a lot in common.

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Dominic. I’m 26 years old from Penampang Sabah, currently studying Diploma in Pharmacy in Cheras and will be finishing this June 2009.

My journey to learn about personal finance and towards the goal of financial freedom just started last year March 2008 when my dad gave me this apparently famous book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. I don’t know anything about him or personal finance for that matter at first. But I guess once I read it, my eyes opened and realized that my financial state was a messed and feel ashamed of my ignorance. From there on, I started to read books and magazines about personal finance and also entrepreneurship.

Those Azizi Ali stuffs was quite a favourite for me, KC Lau nice one for Malaysians, and slowly but surely I will take my time to invest in myself by reading these kind of books both by locals and foreign authors.

As I’m still very much quite new in this, I will try to slowly apply the things that I have learned. For a start I’m currently trying to save up for my emergency funds where I put it at my ASB account. This end of Feb I’m going to attend a seminar on Great Eastern Life with the intention of being involved as a insurance agent. I’ve been reading about it a lot lately, and develop an interest in it with the intention of helping people on the importance of acquiring the right insurance policy. I plan to associate myself with Public Mutual in the near future. The supplementary credit card from my dad, have greatly improved my capacity to save more cash in hand. However I treat the card as if I pay for it so that I wouldn’t overspend.

Anyhow, I have a bit of dilemma right now. I think I have a few choices to make a upon graduating this June:

1) Continue to study for Degree Pharmacy Programs for another 3 years (Skipped to second year) for better rates of income and fulfill my dream to be a pharmacist. Have to ask parents to support for allowance again but will try to workout something to get extra income.
2) Work straight after graduating as I have receive offers from a couple of hospitals to work as an assintant pharmacist with a basic of RM1800 excluding other allowances and benefits.
3) Jump straight to the unknown but exciting career prospects in the financial industries.
Hmm… another crossroads for me… I wonder what is your opinion on this matter..
